Let’s Not Forget About Eggs

Unlike most cereals and yogurt, eggs only contain one ingredient – “eggs.” They don’t contain sugar or carbs either. And at about 17¢ a serving, they’re the least expensive source of high-quality protein.
High-Quality Protein
Eggs have 6 grams of high-quality protein and a protein-packed breakfast helps sustain mental and physical energy throughout the day.

Eggs contain choline (an essential nutrient that supports vital bodily functions and people’s overall health) which promotes normal cell activity, liver function, and the transportation of nutrients throughout the body. It’s also key in the development of an infant’s memory function.
Eggs Contain Zero Carbs And No Sugar.
That means you can eat a well-rounded breakfast during the week without feeling round yourself. Eggs have gone from good to bad throughout my lifetime, but at the moment are considered a heart-healthy protein.

● Studies show that eggs actually improve the cholesterol profile. They raise HDL (good) cholesterol and increase the size of LDL particles, which should lower the risk of heart disease.
● Just think about it, one egg contains all the nutrients and building blocks required to grow a baby chicken.
● Eggs are loaded with high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, good fats, and various trace nutrients. Such as:
○ Vitamin B12 (cobalamin): 9% of the RDA
○ Vitamin B2 (riboflavin): 15% of the RDA
○ Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA
○ Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid): 7% of the RDA
○ Selenium: 22% of the RDA

Eggs also contain small amounts of almost every vitamin and mineral required by the human body, including calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, manganese, vitamin E, folate, and many more. A large egg contains 77 calories, with 6 grams of quality protein, 5 grams of fat, and trace amounts of carbohydrates.

It’s very important to realize that almost all the nutrients are contained in the yolk, the white contains only protein.
